What cruise guests say
Real reviews, left by our guests on Google, Tripadvisor and GetYourGuide.
“Very happy we did this day tour to Rotterdam and Delft. We've seen a lot of both during this tour and we loved the boat ride. Thanks again. John and Josephine.”
“We had such a great afternoon with Victoria! It was a great way to see some highlights of Rotterdam as well as learning the history of this great city. Highly recommend!”
“This tour was great. We were looking forward to Delft a lot and didn’t quite know what to expect from Rotterdam. In the end both cities were amazing. Our guide was also fabulous and very knowledgeable. She picked us up at our hotel and dropped us back off again afterwards. Thanks for this beautiful sunny day.”
Two guarantees, in writing
A shore excursion is not an ordinary day out. Your ship leaves without you if the day goes wrong, so we carry that risk rather than asking you to.
-
Back on board on time, or we get you to the next port
If a delay on our side means you miss your ship, we refund your excursion in full and we arrange your transport to the ship’s next port of call, up to €100 per person. Every route is planned backwards from your all aboard time with a safety margin nothing is scheduled into.
-
Ship does not dock? Your money back, or another date
Weather, a port skipped, a changed itinerary: if your ship does not call at Rotterdam, you choose between a full refund and moving your booking to another date at no cost. Show us the notice from your cruise line or the ship’s tracked position and that is all we need.
Both guarantees are part of our general terms and conditions, article 15.
Not sure a tour fits your hours ashore?
Put in the times your ship is alongside and see which tours fit, transfers, traffic and safety margin already taken off.
Frequently asked questions
Is this tour suitable for cruise passengers?
Yes. This tour is designed specifically for cruise guests docking at the Rotterdam Cruise Port. Pick-up and drop-off are at the cruise terminal, and the itinerary is carefully timed to fit within your port stay. If you’re not on a cruise ship you can still join this tour though, just make sure to meet us at the Cruise Port!
What happens if my ship arrives late or leaves earlier?
We monitor cruise arrival times. If your ship arrives late, we adjust the schedule where possible. If the tour cannot operate due to a significant delay, you will receive a full refund.
Is return to the ship guaranteed?
Yes, and it is in writing. If a delay on our side means you miss your ship, we refund the excursion in full and we arrange your transport to the ship’s next port of call, up to €100 per person. Every route is planned backwards from your all aboard time with a safety margin nothing is scheduled into, and we work from your ship’s actual times rather than the published ones. See article 15 of our general terms and conditions.
Is this a private tour?
Normally, this tour is offered as a small-group shore excursion with a maximum of 16 guests. Travelers who prefer exclusivity can also charter this excursion as a private tour by selecting the private option during the booking process. When booked as a private tour, your group will not be combined with other travelers.
How much walking is involved?
There is a moderate amount of required walking involved during the guided tour: about 1.5 kilometers (1 mile) in Delft and about 0.5 kilometers (0.3 miles) at Kinderdijk. The pace is relaxed, with frequent stops. Guests should be comfortable walking short distances on flat surfaces.
Is the tour suitable for seniors?
Yes. This tour is popular with older travelers. The pace is unhurried, transport is by minibus, and there are several opportunities to sit, rest, or enjoy a café break.
Can I join the tour with children?
Yes, this tour can be a good fit for families traveling with older children or teenagers who are comfortable walking and interested in culture and history. The pace is relaxed, but the content is designed primarily for adults. Reduced prices apply for children under 18. We generally do not recommend this tour for very young children or toddlers; families with younger children may prefer a private tour, where the pace and content can be adapted.
Is lunch included?
No. Lunch is not included. You will have free time in Delft to choose a café or restaurant based on your preferences. Your guide will be happy to provide good recommendations.
What is included in Delft?
1-hour guided walking tour of the city center, a guided visit to the New Church on the market square, 1 hour and 15 minutes of free time for lunch and exploring, and a guided visit to Royal Delft factory and museum with free time at their shop and café.
What is included at Kinderdijk?
A short boat ride past the windmills, entry to an operational 18th-century windmill, entry to the historic Wisboomgemaal pumping station, and free time at the visitor center and rooftop terrace.
Will we go inside buildings, or is everything outside?
Yes, this tour includes interior visits: the New Church in Delft, Royal Delft pottery factory and museum, an operational windmill at Kinderdijk, and the Wisboomgemaal pumping station.
In which language is the tour guided?
This shore excursion is guided in English. If you book a private tour, it is also possible to get a guide that speaks Dutch, German, French, Spanish or Italian.
What is the minimum number of participants?
The tour requires a minimum of 4 guests to operate. If the minimum is not met, you will be offered a full refund.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
What if my ship never docks in Rotterdam?
Weather, a skipped port or a changed itinerary: if your ship does not call at Rotterdam, you choose between a full refund and moving your booking to another date at no cost. A notice from your cruise line, or the ship’s tracked position, is all the proof we need. See article 15 of our general terms and conditions.
How do I know a tour fits the hours I have ashore?
Use our back to the ship calculator. Put in the times your ship is alongside and it shows which tours fit once the queue to disembark, the transfer each way, rush hour on your actual date and a safety margin have been taken off. You will find it in the menu under Shore excursions.
