Yes. This tour is designed specifically for cruise guests docking at the Rotterdam Cruise Port. Pick-up and drop-off are at the cruise terminal, and the itinerary is carefully timed to fit within your port stay. If you’re not on a cruise ship you can still join this tour though, just make sure to meet us at the Cruise Port!

We monitor cruise arrival times. If your ship arrives late, we adjust the schedule where possible. If the tour cannot operate due to a significant delay, you will receive a full refund.

Yes, and it is in writing. If a delay on our side means you miss your ship, we refund the excursion in full and we arrange your transport to the ship’s next port of call, up to €100 per person. Every route is planned backwards from your all aboard time with a safety margin nothing is scheduled into, and we work from your ship’s actual times rather than the published ones. Travelers who prefer exclusivity can also charter this excursion as a private tour by selecting the private option during the booking process. When booked as a private tour, your group will not be combined with other travelers.

Yes, the tour includes an 18th-century museum windmill, with steep ladder-like stairs inside. Kinderdijk is open 9:00 to 17:30 from early March to 1 November and 10:30 to 16:00 in winter, closed on 25 December. In January and February opening is reduced, so we confirm details for winter dates.

It is harder than many guides say. The direct public waterbus to Kinderdijk stopped in October 2025; what remains is a commercial boat service and bus 489 from Kralingse Zoom metro station. With limited time ashore, the excursion's own transport is the simpler choice.

From Rotterdam, Kinderdijk. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site with 19 windmills from the 18th century in open polder, about 23 km from the cruise terminal. Zaanse Schans lies near Amsterdam, more than an hour further away, and is a busier museum village with buildings moved there from elsewhere.

Yes. You can use the toilets during your free time in Delft, in the New Church, at Royal Delft and at the Kinderdijk visitor centre. Some public toilets in Delft cost €0.50 to €1, so a coin or two is useful.

Cards and phones work almost everywhere, including contactless on trams and trains, but dollars are not accepted, so a few euros in cash help for toilets and small purchases. Tipping is never expected; if you enjoyed the day, guests usually give around 5 to 10% of the price.
